(Helpful Tips)

1.
The temperatures have reached the high 40-50 degrees and it’s nice to go out and work in the yard. DO NOT hard rake or dethatch the lawn at this time. The action of this will do more harm than good. The roots are water logged at this time and will tear with the rake.

2.
Start picking up fallen branches/pine cones/ twigs and large leaf piles off your lawn at this time if you haven’t already.

3.
You can apply an organic Fertilizer or Step 1 Fertilizer equivalent at this time after you have picked up items mentioned in (Tip #2)

4.
Prepare your garden beds at this time for vegetables. DO NOT plant them at this time. Only turn the soil.

        5.  Take inventory of your lawn/garden tools and replace/repair any non-working items.

6.
The winter season can be harsh on trees so make note of any problem trees that need to be addressed for pruning or removal.

*Hope you enjoy this newsletter. If there any questions you would like an answer to, please feel free to write them down and email them to me brendan@brendanslandscape.com  and we can even include them in the next newsletter. Please send your name and email address to get on the seasonal newsletter email list. We can both help to go GREEN with conserving paper.

**Also I can do paperless billing so you can keep your records of your billing in a folder on your computer instead of cluttering up a desk or file cabinet. Ask me to go paperless so we can both be more GREEN.
